'You may have just saved a life': Pawrent finds cold kitten with 102 fever hiding in their garage, they nurse him back to health and find him a furrever family to love

Turns out that the Christmas tree isn't the only place to find surprise purresents this year. You might find them meowing from outside your window, or shivering in your garage! These gifts may come without fancy wrapping paper or a pretty bow on top, but they'll be the best gift you get all year. This gift, of course, is a new cat, and the best part is - it's free! 

One pawrent found this seriously smol kitten shivering in their garage, and noticing that something was wrong, they immediately took them to the vet. Turns out the kitten had a 102-degree fever, and without meowdical intervention, he might not have made it. Now, he's at home, all warmed up and healing. After about two days, they said the kitten was running around, playing, and eating normally. Yay! Unfurtunately, they have a cat at home that doesn't take too kindly to strangers, so they searched around for a family to take him. One wholesome neighbor stepped up and decided to become the fluffy feline's furrever family. 

This gift just keeps on giving. The pawrent saved a cat's life, and then gave that life to another family to expurrience all the love that comes with adding a new kitten to your home. Purrfectly heartwarming, and just in time for the holidays!

    Immediately took him to the vet. He had a temp of 102c. They gave him a dosage plus cleaned him up a little.

    I got kitten formula milk and fed him. He was super hungry. Little guy even used the litter box of our cat which surprised me.

    2 days later and he is now happy, warm, fed, playing, purring. Unfortunately we can't keep him for long as one cat is enough chaos as it is and besides our cat doesn't like this little guy in here.

    We keep them separate. But don't worry. Our neighbor who love cats and has like 10 of them said yes to adopt him and give him a loving home.

  • We have to say, it sounds like they want to keep the kitten, but are unsure how. Cats need their time to get used to new things, but with time, everything usually works out. Some introductions take longer than others, but every cat introduction we've done has ended in success with the right amount of patience.

    Comfortable_Teaching Just an FYI -- It's way too early to gauge whether or not they like each other. It's rare even more that two cats will just immediately like one another. My original cat hissed and even swatted at our kitten through the door when she first got here. Had I took that at face value, I would have given her up. I took the time to introduce them slowly -2 weeks- and they are literally the best of friends 2 years and counting.

    EUGsk8rBoi42p Cats often have hesitancy with introductions, I've found that gabapentin used short term can really help influence their longterm behavior later. It sounds like you'd want to keep him if possible. :)

  • We can also verify that two cats is less chaos than one. Our two cats play with each other, and they do so tirelessly. It's not only entertaining for them, it's entertaining for us! It's like having a live broadcast of WWE in our living room every day.

    Plantpoweredge The best thing for a cat is another cat. It takes days up to weeks to keep them separated but ultimately they would become companions. I have 5 and each had to come in as the new cat and ultimately did

    great. They all are a loving family now. Just in case you want to give keeping this kitten a second thought. Two or more cats really come in handy if you travel so one's not left in house alone. Anywho, that k you for bring a kind human being and God bless your kind heart.
